Tzarevo, also known from history books as Vasiliko and Michurin, is a town and a harbour in South-East Bulgaria. It is situated near the town of Ahtopol, 70 km south-east of Bourgas.
The town occupies the Bulgarian side of Primorska Strandzha – morphologically a well-formed mountain, nowadays artificially divided along The Rezovska River valley today by the official state border between Bulgaria and Turkey. The short flat hills of the mountain, covered with venerable oak-tree forests, softly slide into the sea, which has carved dozens of small bays and peninsulas into the shore.
